Primary subject: recipe/pressure-cooker-black-beans-for-tacos v1

Hypothesis

Retrospective review expectation stated at recording time: the complete recorded formulation and Method can reach its intended endpoints and produce the following finished dish: Tender, savoury black beans with enough concentrated liquor to spoon into tacos. This is not a hypothesis documented before historical cooking and is not itself an observed outcome.

Procedure

This record was written on 2026-10-02 from Carlo Kruger’s retrospective report on that date. Historical cooking dates and trial counts were not recorded. The exact whole Recipe Version is Pressure-Cooker Black Beans for Tacos v1. Its preserved source is recipes-tmp/pressure-cooker-black-beans-for-tacos.md with SHA-256 7404e4bc719c66d06d661e83c8c4601faa6977b6bbf4f7dd5408eb6b27c58acb. The serialized draft SHA-256 is bed085dbf4677fa912dcd12af4e57748985b9920fa43ba71c61b5a43589e53e0. The complete formulation and work sequence below are the recorded specification, not newly observed timings, temperatures or yields. Correspondence to past cooking is attributed to Carlo’s statement that the recipes as recorded were fully tested. The historical reconstruction caveats remain in the unchanged source; Carlo’s 2026-10-02 acceptance applies to this formulation and the packet’s explicit clarifications.

PHASE A — PRESSURE COOK

Ingredient Uses

Key Ingredient Quantity Scaling Use
dried-black-beans-rinsed Dried black beans, rinsed 400 g 100.00% Dried black beans, rinsed.
water Water 1200 g 300.00% Water.
white-onion-halved White onion, halved 150 g 37.50% White onion, halved.
garlic-crushed Garlic, crushed 15 g 3.75% Garlic, crushed.
bay-leaf Bay leaf 1 g 0.25% Bay leaf.
ground-cumin Ground cumin 3 g 0.75% Ground cumin.
dried-oregano Dried oregano 2 g 0.50% Dried oregano.
fine-salt Fine salt 10 g 2.50% Fine salt.
neutral-oil Neutral oil 20 g 5.00% Neutral oil.

Technique Applications

Technique Controls Purpose
Pressure cooking High pressure 35 min; natural release 20 min Cook dry beans before reducing the liquor.

Method

  1. Combine beans, water, onion, garlic, bay leaf, cumin, oregano, salt, and oil in a pressure cooker.
  2. Cook at high pressure for 35 min.
  3. Allow pressure to release naturally for 20 min, then release any remaining pressure.

Phase Outputs

Key Phase Output Description
cooked-beans-with-liquor Cooked beans with liquor Prepared intermediate for a later Phase. Use all; approximately 900 g is the recorded finished-weight estimate.

PHASE B — REDUCE AND FINISH

Ingredient Uses

Key Ingredient Quantity Scaling Use
lime-juice Lime juice 25 g 6.25% Lime juice.
fine-salt Fine salt 3 g 0.75% Fine salt.
coriander-leaves-chopped Coriander leaves, chopped 20 g 5.00% Coriander leaves, chopped.

Method

  1. Discard onion and bay leaf. Simmer uncovered for 10 min–20 min until the liquor lightly coats the beans.
  2. Stir in lime juice and coriander. Adjust salt.
  3. For taco service, crush approximately 20% of the beans into the liquor to make the mixture cohesive.

Bean age changes pressure-cooking time substantially; add 5 min–10 min if the beans remain chalky. Reconstructed as an unsoaked method. Do not fill the pressure cooker above half capacity when cooking dried beans.

Phase Outputs Used

Phase Output Use
Cooked beans with liquor Use cooked-beans-with-liquor. Use all; approximately 900 g is the recorded finished-weight estimate.

Results

Carlo retrospectively reported that the recipes as recorded were all successful and fully tested, and approved this whole formulation for production. No further Recipe-specific observations were supplied. Cooking dates, trial counts, detailed tasting notes and instrument measurements were not supplied. Source yields are estimates, not measured results of this retrospective record. Recorded alternatives have no separate variation-specific testing observations in this report.

Decision

Carlo accepted the formulation as recorded, including the explicit reviewed clarifications, for production in the complete 25-Recipe batch on 2026-10-02. Proceed to normal exact-version Promotion after valid serialization, applicable Curation and reference resolution. Technical validation does not perform that human acceptance. A materially changed formulation needs its own exact-version evidence and acceptance; this report does not automatically follow future changes.
